So I’m writing this with half an eye on the Chelsea v Fulham game. At the moment it’s 1:1 with an hour gone. So maybe our Christmas gift of fourth is on!
The main talking point for the Arsenal team selection is Robin Van Persie and the record that could get in the way of sensible choices. Robin Van Persie needs three goals in the next two games to beat Alan Shearer’s record of strikes in a calendar year. On the other hand, Wolves and QPR are two games where you might think Van Persie gets tested for greater challenges ahead.
This is getting exciting now, still 1:1 over at Stamford Bridge and 10 minutes to go.
My guess is that Arsene Wenger will play him against Wolves and see what happens. If he were to score, certainly if he got a couple, he will start him against QPR too. Van Persie’s continued fitness is a big issue, but his morale is important too. Arsene might just take a risk.
So, same team as last time? I reckon there could be a change or two in there. How about a start for Rosicky and Benayoun?
_______ Szczesny _______
Kos _ Merte _ Verm _ Miquel
________ Song _________
__ Arteta ____ Rosicky ___
Walcott __ RVP __ Benayoun
What do you think?
Extra time now. Come on Fulham, you can do this!
Yes – 1:1 it is! Thank you Fulham! So perhaps Santa is going to deliver fourth place afterall.
Now, if we can beat Wolves 4:0 and Spurs then lose 2:0 to Norwich…… But maybe I’m just getting greedy now!
